Masterson Method® Certified Practitioner
Certified Equi-Bow Practitioner
Both the Masterson Method® and Equi-Bow are integrative, interactive bodywork modalities that work with the horse to bring about changes in posture, movement and performance.
Do you experience any of the following with your horse? If so, bodywork can help!
-
stiffness moving one direction or the other
-
sensitivity when being girthed
-
resistance to performing certain movements
-
behavioural issues ("my horse always does that")
-
sensitivity to touch around the ears or elsewhere on the body
-
restricted movement
Using the method that will be of most benefit to your horse, I work "hand in hand" with you and other members of your equine team to enhance your horse's well-being.

MASTERSON METHOD® CERTIFIED PRACTITIONER, CERTIFIED EQUI-BOW PRACTITIONER

After a long hiatus between childhood and adult riding, I was reacquainted with horses during a trip to Iceland where I was introduced to the hardy, smooth-gaited and personable Icelandic horse. A few years later, my Icelandic mare Blida found her new home in Canada. Saddle-fitting challenges and a diagnosis of PSSM (Polysaccharide Storage Myopathy - an equine muscle disorder) led me to investigate various kinds of bodywork to help improve Blida's chances of a longer riding life.
In 2017, I completed the requirements to become a Masterson Method® Certified Practitioner, followed by Certified Equi-Bow Practitioner status in 2018.
As a practitioner, I have worked with horses from a variety of disciplines including barrel racing, dressage and harness racing, as well as pleasure and retired horses of several different breeds. Whatever the background, these gentle and effective bodywork methods can have a positive impact on your horse’s well-being!

CLIENTS SAY
Kathy is a miracle worker and my horse loves their bodywork sessions together. My horse can’t talk but these sessions give her a way to communicate and release her areas of tension and discomfort. Kathy is both a great listener and observer and provides my horse with a calm, relaxing presence. We have our best rides together after she has had a session with Kathy.
